2019 TP Nouragues

The system for observing the functioning of tropical forest and plantation ecosystems includes heavily instrumented workshop sites for describing, quantifying and modelling the functioning of forest ecosystems. The five tropical sites are intended to offer case studies under different climatic conditions, that of the humid tropics, for two contrasting stand types: the natural tropical rainforest in Guyana and Thailand, industrial plantations of Eucalyptus in Brazil and a coffee-based agroforestry ecosystem in Costa Rica. They are also intended to be part of regional networks (in a continental context) and thus to broaden the French Observatory's possibilities for international cooperation.
